Most of us feel like we have the cutest kids around, but of course we also know if our little cutie isn't going to last 10 seconds in a kiddie modeling contest. If your baby's face is one of those that only a mother could love, take heart: According to a new study, in a few years time your little one might just end up looking like [fill in the name of your favorite hottie here].
The small survey used high school yearbooks that also included baby pictures of the graduating seniors. Researchers surveyed a group of college students, asking them to rate for attractiveness both the baby pics and the young-adult ones. They found no correlation between attractiveness - or ugliness - during infancy and at 18. Which explains the Olsen twins - I always thought they were not very cute toddlers on Full House, but they're gorgeous now!
So, when can you start banking on your baby’s future modeling career? According to a report on the study in Psychology Today, we can predict adult attractiveness by age 5, which satisfies something I honestly have wondered: how do casting agents for TV shows know that the adorable 6-year-old they hire will still be good-looking if the show sticks around for a few years.
How much do you think about your LO's attractiveness now and in the future? I look back at my son's baby pictures, and I'm definitely more objective now. Then I thought he was the most gorgeous thing in all the land - now that's he's a way better-looking 2-year-old, I see he was cute then, but he had some ugly moments, lol.
And that leads to another thing scientists believe: Because we think our odd-looking infants are beautiful, we take better care of them.
Do you have a cutie? Ever wonder if other people see your LO the same way?

my daughter is always called brown eyes every time we go out it's "wow her eyes are so big" "wow her eyes are such a pretty brown" etc. even men and boys come up to us and say how beautiful she is. she gets more pretty every month. her eyes are alot bigger now, this is an old pic. she already won 1st place at a modeling comp at only 3months. i'm not going to push modeling on her but if she likes it then we will do it. she has such a bubbly personality. i don't know about those olsen twins lol! anyone with money can pay to look good. they aren't ugly but i got to wonder where they are spending all their money bc they don't look like model materal either. on a funny note, my husband looked just like kevin arnold off the wonder years when we was a kid. they looked like twins, no joke. i also hope this doesn't sound bad but i hope she doesn't get too beautiful. maybe some sort of imperfection to keep her in line. i don't want to much trouble with boys etc.
Comment by Bethany Ann, Star Mom on November 21, 2011 at 6:10pm My daughter has definitely grown more into her looks. Obviously she was the cutest baby ever ;-) hehe but now her features are maturing and she has a very beautiful structure to her. I can tell already, even though she's only 15 months, that she will be blessed with my mom's side of the family's figure. Wide hips, healthy booty, decent boobs, hour glass. I'm missing in the hourglass department right now, since having her, but it's still there and when I slim back down I'll have my sexy body back! She also has my wide blue eyes, which are the one feature that I ALWAYS get comments on. Her too, every time we are out there is at least one person who says how beautiful her bright blues are.
My son is equally handsome, but I think he is too thin. I keep trying to pack some weight on him, because he looks just like his daddy and I know he'd be really good looking if he could just put on some weight! But alas, he also has his daddy's metabolism and is 3 years old and only 28 pounds!
My babies will always be beautiful to me, no matter what.
Oh, and my twin boys were very 'interesting' looking as newborns, one looked like an old grandpa w/ no hair trapped in a babies body, and the other looked like a mid 30's man w/ a TON of hair trapped in a babies body, lol. I am very curious to see how they end up looking as they grow!
My daughter has always had a stunning look, and she seems to only get more beautiful w/ time so I would imagine she will end up very good looking. I can't even go anywhere w/ out comments from random people, however she would NEVER model... she's extremely camera shy only (otherwise she is a very bubbly, outgoing person) it takes quite a bit to get her to pose or even smile for pics, she hates the spotlight. Our entire family and friends all pressure us to get her into modeling or that they are going to send her pics in (even just yesterday at the twilight saga they had a table/reps setup for signing up for modeling and every one was pressuring me to do it... it was simple- "Kali, do you want to model?" the answer was "NO!" so that ended that conversation)... but what is the point if she is not at all interested... I won't ever be one of those moms that lives my own dreams through my child, it would have to be all her dream.
Comment by burp mcgurk, Star Mom on November 20, 2011 at 6:39am i have found that some stunning babies turn into ugly ducklings and that some ugly ducklings turn into stunners. there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. i was prepared for the ugliest of babies(both sides of my family have not-so-attractive babes, and my boyfriend's baby pictures weren't exactly giving me any hope). tommy came out quite a cutie and i feel like i can't tell if he really is or if i'm completely blinded cause i'm his momma. love him either way though : )
