Is true, potty training is a process and not a single event. I'm starting this process with my 17 month old daughter. She did not like the small patty, different from her big sister who preffered the big one. We changed to a potty seat on the big toilet and she really enjoyed it. When we take her she potties, however she is not at that stage that she tells us that she is ready to go

Have him go to the restroom with you let him know what you're doing. Show him his dirty diaper talk to him let him know what it is. Soon he"ll start getting the idea.. Notice what times he usually potty's on diaper & take it from there.During training you can also try giving him extra fluids that will make him go potty more.
Start sitting him on the potty make it like a game, he will let you know when he is ready. Dont stress or push him into it some children it takes a bit longer. As long as you stick to whatever you choose to help him understand on potty he 'll do well.

we have been getting lo use to the potty, she calls it peepee. she went in it when she was about 13-14 months a couple of times. not forcing anyting, just getting her use to the idea. i noticed she was ready to start getting introduced to it when i'd take her diaper off so we could get in the shower and she'd pee on the floor. we are taking things slow though. don't want to stress her out.
Our 15 month old son walked to his dad right after he pooped , he had two hands on the front of his diapers & said " CACA " Loud !! :).. We are currently working with him , sometimes he makes it sometimes he doesnt. He likes to talk on the fone , & we read to him while he sits on the potty .
