Kasey Kahne apologizes for calling a woman he saw breastfeeding in public a dumb ****

Maybe you've heard that NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne was so grossed out by the sight of a woman breastfeeding in a supermarket a couple of weeks ago, he told his fans in a Twitter tirade (hashtag #Nasty) that he didn't think he could shop or eat any more. When another woman tweeted her disagreement to his tweet, her called her a "dumb bitch."The tweets were quickly removed after being met with a torrent of angry responses.

Now, Kahne has apologized on his Facebook page. In his apology, he says he was just kind of "surprised" by what he saw at the supermarket but supports the right of moms to breastfeed their babies and understands why folks were upset, now that he's read what people have to say.

At the time of this post, his apology has generated almost 6,680 comments.

Are you mad at Kahne? Does his apology satisfy you?

What do you expect from someone that drives around in a circle for a living?

I agree, Kristin. His apology was really lacking. It doesn't seem sincere at all.

I think his apology is sad, forced attempt to keep good with his sponsors written by his public relations director or whoever it is that is in charge of keeping his public image well-kept. And calling that lady a dumb b- seriously?!? You don't say that to someone because of a matter so seemingly unimportant and then give a "heartfelt and sincere" apology. I call bs on "his" apology.

Shannon, Star Mom i couldn't agree more. you should go to his fb post though and see some of the hateful things his fans are saying. if he does feel bad about it for real then it is a shame bc some of his fans are still flaming the fire and making it still look bad for him.

I had no idea who this guy was until I read this today... but he seems a little close-minded and must still have A LOT to learn in life.  And just as I suspected based on his ignorant comments, he is not married and does not have any children.  I'm sure when he becomes a husband and father he'll look back at this and really realize what a fool he made of himself.

well i have no idea who he is and i don't care. he is a nobody to me esp after those comments. i could care less about his opinion or his appology - it means nothing to me and doesn't change the fact that i will continue to nurse my lo. it was a very immature thing to say. hopefully he grows up and learns from it.

OK...so he said it, apologized for it, now lets move on.  Why do people choose to drag things out?  Especially things that are so ridiculous....I'm sure everyone who's "angry" about this has been guilty of saying something that pissed a lot of people off and/or regretted saying it after the fact.  Where's the real news and interesting articles??

I use to like Kasey Kahne but after reading this and now that I know what he said, I'm not a fan of his any more. :( It's very sad that he tweeted those things. :(
