Dear Baby Princess,

It's been a great week!

First and most importantly, you have a beautiful new baby girl cousin!  We will see her next week when we go to New York and I can't wait to snuggle her.  I think it will be wonderful for cousin R to have a sister and for you to have yet another cousin so close to your age!  We are also going to celebrate cousin J's first birthday during this trip and I think (well, I hope) that when all of you are a little older you will all love hanging out.  I definitely don't see enough of my cousins but when I do I really enjoy spending time with them and I'd love for all of you to be close.  And speaking of my cousins, M had a baby the same day as Aunt B, so the two babies are now second cousins with the same birthday!  I think that's pretty crazy .  .  . but very convenient for your mom who is terrible at remembering birthdays.

In other good news, we have moved!!  I wouldn't say it's all been 100% smooth and it's definitely not 100% done (Daddy's on his way to the apartment as we speak, actually, to try and round up some of the odds and ends that are still there) but we are in our new home.  And I have to tell you, I love it.  You have been your wonderful laid-back self and have settled right in with a minimum of confusion.  We haven't figured out where anything goes yet, but you melted my heart yesterday when you saw where Daddy and I had kicked off our shoes and then brought yours over to line up next to ours.  (Yes, you have kind of a fascination with shoes.  I think it's because you love going out so you like to bring everyone their shoes to get them out of the house faster.  Of course, now you also love taking off your shoes and throwing them onto the floor regardless of where you happen to be, so it's probably just a matter of time before we lose a baby shoe at the mall.)

The drive in this morning wasn't so bad and we'll see how it goes tonight.  I'm glad you'll only have to commute with me for a few weeks (you switch to a different daycare, close to the new house, at the beginning of June) but for now it's nice to have the company.  I suspect the transition to a new daycare may be more traumatic - for all of us -  than the transition to a new house, but hopefully you'll like it.

That's it for now, Baby Princess.  So glad I can share some good news with you!  See you tonight for our drive home to the suburbs.

Love,

Mommy
