Baby does so many thing during nursing either from natural instict or just funny habits they pick up one day ...sometime you have to wonder where did they get that idea?! So many tranformations have happened over my breastfeeding timeline i will share with you all and you can tell me if you had similar experiences and what funny ,annoying, or cute thing baby did while nursing!
From day one my baby loved to nurse and i never realized how much we were like animals tell i had my own child as a new born she honestly reminded me of a baby monkey little and had a thin layer of hair allover she would hold on to the top of my shirt and just stare at me and peck around all over my chest looking for milk it was so cute.
After a couple months she mastered the skill of finding my nipple on her own it shocked me this child could be dead asleep in pitch black(we cosleep)and be sleeping 6 inches away and find my nipple no problem it was like she had a magnet that was just pulling her in.
Around 6 months she would want to sit upright straddling my leg and hold on to my breast while she ate.
At 9 months she would try to pull my shirt down in public kinda embarassing but can ya blame the kid she was use to getting it anytime she liked at home.
At around a year she wold creep her little hand down my shirt and literally tuck it under my breast not quiet cordinanted or strong enough to fully pull it out yet but she tried!
Around 16 months is when she started a very annoying habit she would drink off one breast and rub and pitch the unoccupied nipple ...grrr it was cute but so annoying it just made my skin crawl!
Now at 20months she is my little milk monster she can pull my shirt down literally lift my breast out of my bra and plop it right in her mouth and hold it with 2 hand around it like a giant bottle sitting unright on my leg she only lays down in the craddle position to go to sleep. If she is asleep and i try to remove my nipple out of her mouth before she is ready she pushed my hand away. If i am nude and bend over she will try to come up under to and drink milk if i lay down to do sit up she straddles me lays down on top of me and want to drink milk her newest thing that started last week is boobie, boobie and points to it or from time to time she utters mama that boobie or boobie peas very cute but sometime frustrating. I know someday i will miss her being so little and in the grand scheamof things spending 2 yrs breastfeeding is not that long i know i will breastfeed for atleast 2 yrs or beyond it is frustrating at times but ultimently i love it we are close as can be she is happy healthy and secure and i would not do it any other way!! so ladies share with some of your breastfeeding stories good, bad, or funny it always nice to hear others out there are going through the same thing as you!

Comment by ravenwolf837 on April 6, 2012 at 12:38pm My son is 5 month old and now is try to "talk" while feeding, or try to watch tv. He actully cranes his neck to watch it, I'll have to turn it off so i can feed him.
Comment by samanths hines on March 29, 2012 at 6:29pm i do the same try to just cover it but she rips my hand awy funny but annoying sonds like u have a little milk monster on ur hands as well!
Comment by jamie913 on March 29, 2012 at 12:29am My son does the same thing. He'll be nursing at night and on the breast that is free, he rubs and pinches the nipple. It is so annoying for me as well. I try to cover it up with my shirt or hand, and he gets so angry that he doesn't have access to it. Sometimes I just let him do it because he falls asleep a little faster, but most of the time I fight with him trying to cover it up.
Comment by samanths hines on March 27, 2012 at 9:46pm ethanx that totally sounds like my daughter holding her leg in the air splapping my chest playing with the unoccupied boob and a robe is she just rips it open she switches from right side to left side back and forth!! same with my daughter if i bend oiver exposed she alwayyyys seizes the moment lol i do love to nurse but she thinks she own my chest sometimes it is frustrating and at times i think i want to be done but it makes her so happy and it such a bonding time i know i will hold on another 6mon to yr as long as she like it seems like a long time but looking back it wont feel so bad enjoy the time while he is small it goes soooo fast!good luck on your bf journey!
Comment by EthanX on March 27, 2012 at 7:47pm I love breast feeding, it really is a great way to bond with your child. And it's great that you're able to breast feed for so long. The moment we first tried breast feeding at the hospital, he latched on immediately! The nurses had to pry him away so that they could give him a bath/clean him. He was constantly wanting to nurse. It's so interesting how they just know what to do on their own, he was literally like a magnet. It was funny seeing him try to breast feed through my clothes, he still does that (quiet impatient when it comes to nursing). My son is about 7 months now and his thing is to hold his foot/leg in the air or to slap/hit my chest while eating. I love how he'll stop to talk to me and then go back to (I just wish I could understand what he's saying). The other night after showering, I was on the bed with my son rubbing him down with lotion and my towel dropped and he leaned forward ( he was sitting up) and just starting nursing. Talk about seizing the moment!
