Are Stay-at-Home Moms More Depressed?
A recent study by the American Psychological Association found that working moms are happier than stay-at-home moms. What? Who did they interview for this one? Not me, that's for sure! What do you think? Weigh in and read my blog at http://www.mom365.com/Baby/Posts/2012/Jan/Working-To-Find-Your-Mommy-Bliss.aspx.

and so the search for a new pediatric dentist begins.
tommy went to his first dental visit- finally. i have been hearing so much about his teeth rotting because i still nurse him at night (i brush his teeth before bed- there's no way i'm going to risk waking him up when i need to be at work at 7). the dentist assured me his teeth are a-ok. she sees no signs of decay AT ALL. yayyyyyyy! tommy was even good (gasp) during the appointment. he didn't kick, scream, squirm or refuse to open his mouth. which, of course, i assured them he…

Is Lego Building a Controversy?
Okay, so we all know girls typically play with dolls and boys typically play with trucks. But what about Legos? Who is supposed to play with those? If you've been shopping lately you may have seen the new line Lego has created for girls. Lego thinks it has done something great, but not everyone agrees. Why? Check out my blog at…

Infant Open Heart Surgery
Today I found out my 2 month old son needs open heat surgery due to he has a large hole in his heart. Its called VSD and I am scared to death. I am 20 years old and I never thought this would ever happen especially where my daughter never had any problems. I am trying to stay calm for my children but it seems hard. But it feels like a sense of relief that he is getting the surgery just because I worry everyday for him. Like is he eating good, hows his breathing, is sweating while he eats and…

Dentist
Dear Baby Princess,
Apparently even princesses with 4 teeth need to go to the dentist.
So you had your first appointment over the holidays. In case you ever want to know the very first time you went to the dentist, it was Friday, December 30, 2011. It wasn't even on my radar that a 1-year-old needed to go to the dentist until I started reading it as a to-do item in parenting magazines. When…

What do you think?
I have been a mom for only four months and some days and I have to say I love love love it. I never thought that the most challenging career in the world could be the most rewarding. When I found out that I was pregnant there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted this baby with all my heart however, my boyfriend of four years could not have been more upset.
He is not in the picture and even now there are times when I feel like I am ruining my daughter's life by not being able to…

Tips for a Picky Eater
My mom cursed me.
During most of our talks of life down the road, or during an argument involving my brattiness and her parenting techniques, she would always tell me "I hope your kids turn out just like you." Sometimes she meant it as a blessing, other times it was meant as a curse so I would appreciate the suffering she endured :-p I was an ornery one, that's for sure.
Enter...my Daughter. Precious, beautiful, charasmatic, adventurous, brave, intelligent. So…

Potty Training is Going Down the Toilet
I never thought getting someone to do their business in the potty would be hard. I always heard how difficult potty training can be but I always thought parents were exaggerating. Nope, they weren't. It's hard, yep, and frustrating might I add. My master plan was to have my two and a half year old potty trained by Christmas. Go ahead and laugh. Santa Claus has left the building and we are not potty trained.
My daughter actually did her first deed in the potty months ago at…

From the Pit to the Palace.
Another year, another month, another fresh start. The beginning of the year is a time for resolutions and reflection on the prior twelve months. It's funny to me how so many people vow to not make resolutions because they don't "believe in them" or they fear breaking them. However, these same people set new goals for the year ahead and hold to the hope of meeting those goals. But isn't…
