My bouncing baby boy is all better finally got over that terrible cold he had. He started back at daycare today as well. He is starting to talk a whole lot more these days. No mama and dada yet though. Boy does this child drool though and he is eating his hands and clothes all the time! I love him dearly though can't wait for him to be more playful.

Mom of Two Diaries of a Mommy

Preston is getting so big!  He is 10 months old and has four teeth on the top and two on the bottom (with two trying to cut through right now).  His sleeping habits, KNOCK ON WOOD, have been outstanding.  A week of full night sleep starting at 7:30 PM until usually 7:00 AM.  Amazing, thank you, son!  He has been trying to walk by himself, without assistance, for some time now but still does not have it quite mastered.  He's got the push cart mastered and gets the biggest smile on his face…

burp mcgurk, Star Mom Thoughts on Breastfeeding

while i was at my dad's picking up tommy, my dad turned on law and order. it was an episode where a mom and dad were being charged with murder (i think, it's hard to concentrate with a wound-up tommy running around) of their 6 week old infant. i didn't get to see the entire episode, only to the part where the mother was frustrated by the breastfeeding process and let her baby starve to death. i don't want to know how it ends. it hits home really really hard.

when i brought tommy home…

Katie, Mom365 Host Birth control pills recalled!

Pzifer just announced a recall of a million packs of pills. Apparently they misordered some of the pills in the packs and so women taking these pills are at higher risk of unplanned pregnancy. See if your pills are among the affected here.

kristalynch2011 Catch up on the last 3 months (15 weeks) of Frank :)

Well my son is 3 months (15 weeks) he has been in and out of the hospital for 2 of those months. He wasn't gaining weight, he wasn't even maintaining his weight, he was loosing it! He was 6lbs 3oz at birth and went down to 5lbs! He wasn't holding down any food and my pediatrician had no idea why. She was telling us to feed him slower and burp him more as well as changing his formula twice, this was not helping at all. After many trips to the hospital in only 2 months I got tired of my…

Baby Princess' Mom Adorable Words You Say

Dear Baby Princess,

You are 16 months old today.

It is amazing how much you've grown.  L commented the other night at dinner that you are starting to have a "little girl" look about you and she's absolutely right.  When I look at pictures of you as a newborn it is just crazy to me; you are truly a whole different person.

Right now you are doing an amazing job of moving from sign language into real words.  You continue to say "hi," "bye-bye" and…

Carolyn Harton So far

So far having my son is the best thing that has happened to me I wouldn't change any moment in the past 2 years for anything. I am not sure where I would be at the moment if it were not for him I know I wouldn't be married to his father that is for sure. Yesterday was my sons 2nd birthday and I am so glad that he has so many people that love him and came to spend his day with him. Now if I could just get him to get off his new pedal tractor to eat then the world would be great lol.

burp mcgurk, Star Mom and so the search for a new pediatric dentist begins.

tommy went to his first dental visit- finally. i have been hearing so much about his teeth rotting because i still nurse him at night (i brush his teeth before bed- there's no way i'm going to risk waking him up when i need to be at work at 7). the dentist assured me his teeth are a-ok. she sees no signs of decay AT ALL. yayyyyyyy! tommy was even good (gasp) during the appointment. he didn't kick, scream, squirm or refuse to open his mouth. which, of course, i assured them he…

ejewer1091 Infant Open Heart Surgery

Today I found out my 2 month old son needs open heat surgery due to he has a large hole in his heart. Its called VSD and I am scared to death. I am 20 years old and I never thought this would ever happen especially where my daughter never had any problems. I am trying to stay calm for my children but it seems hard. But it feels like a sense of relief that he is getting the surgery just because I worry everyday for him. Like is he eating good, hows his breathing, is sweating while he eats and…

Dr. Jen Dr. Jen Is In: Walkers and other wheeled toys

Is my 5-month old ready for a walker?
 - Shaswanda

I chose this question to answer because you used the word “WALKER” -  your question concerned me from a safety perspective.

Although some parents were raised using walkers and may believe that walkers will help children with development & walking, walkers actually may DELAY walking and are quite dangerous. In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics does not support baby walkers and has asked for a…

The Baby News Pregnancy is a disability, law prof. says

Being pregnant can certainly pose challenges to a lot of women, to the extent that a law professor is alleging that it should be considered a disability.

Associate law professor Jeannette Cox at the University of Dayton says that pregnancy should be qualified as a disability in the workplace, so that moms can receive equal protection under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Doing so would…
