I've got tons of favorite places (but I've been at this a while)...If it's rainy, we go to Whittle Shortline Railroad to play trains (free), if it's sunny and Wednesday then we go to Missouri Botanical Garden (free for StL before noon), if I don't want to drive far it's Kirkwood Park and if I don't want to deal with crowds then Simpson Park!  Weekend goto place is biking Grant's Trail with a stop at Grant's Farm (free to park your bike and free beer--only have to pay for the pretzels and ice cream).

Thanks for the tips, @Jobell and @mypurplecar! We'd love to hear from the other St. Louis Moms in our Local Tips Contest. Where do you take your little one when you want to get out of the house and play? What's your favorite local children's clothing store? What park has the best sandbox? Share just one local tip on the wall and you'll be entered to win a $100 Living Social Family gift card! One winner will be randomly selected on June 1.

I love the cotton babies store in st louis. as well as selling cloth diapers,  they have story time once a week and several other meet ups, the gals who work there are great.

I love to take Our little Sweetie Pie to Shaws Arboreum. It is an awesome location for walks, picnics, nature watching, and fabulous photo ops!

Does it cost more to raise boys than it does girls? Wal-Mart Corp. must think so...I spotted a 3 pk of Bright Starts teethers for boys that was .50 higher than the exact same 3 pk for girls! When you look at this percentage wise, WOAH!! Why is this I'm wondering, and has anyone else had a similar experience on price differences between boys & girls?
