We have been to the Imagine Museum twice, but it has been several months. Our son was a little over 2 when we last visited and it was pretty good but I remember thinking that it would be better when he gets a bit older. He will be 3 in January so we will visit again next year for sure.

Went to the Imagine Children's Museum in Everett today, was really good for my 2-year-old! It's fine for rainy days but I think it's probably even better on sunny days, because of the huge rooftop playground.

The second Virtual Book Club book is starting up over in Book Moms! The book is Jane, by April Lindner. It's a young adult book based on a classic by Charlotte Bronte, a star-crossed romance perfect for the dog days of summer. And it gets 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon! the book club is pretty easy too--read a bit each week, then discuss online whenever is convenient for you. Hope some of you will join us!

Someone just told me the REI store downtown and the Alderwood Mall have great indoor playspaces for very young kids (woman who told me has a 14-month-old). I am not too far from either so I will definitely be checking those out when the weather turns grey again (hopefully not any time soon!).

Here are some local tips from us. They are all in north Seattle-- we love Gas Works Park for the view and grassy hills to climb; Golden Gardens Beach for the view and the water; Mosaic Coffeehouse in Wallingford (it's pay-what-you-wish and has a big playroom with a door!), and Vios Cafe in Ravenna and also Capitol Hill for their great Greek food and play area. Also, Southcenter Mall and the University Village shopping centers have great playareas, and it seems like every Barnes and Noble we go in Seattle to has a huge kids area and one of those awesome Thomas the train tables, complete with a gazillion trains.

Those beautiful West Coast summer days are going to arrive any moment now, right?

OK, so I'm a Dad but my wife is not part of this website, so I hope its OK that I joined.

Our son Steven is a 21-months old and we live in the Mill Creek/Everett/Snohomish area. Steven is our first and only child :-)
