I have tried 3 different feeder cups, bagoogle different spoons, added water to baby food, add rice and oatmeal to his formula.... he might take -2 bites and makes the yucky face and refuses the stuff.   His Dr said some kids just take longer, but I'm open for suggestions.

 Good luck dubh

EastTexasMommy, I am having the EXACT same problems!! My son has no interest in solid foods. He won't let anyone spoon anything into his mouth. I tried letting him have the spoon with some food on it... he HATES it. I tried just putting it in front of him in his high chair and the only bits that he gets in his mouth are because he tries to suck his thumb and there is some food on it, but the face he makes! Clearly he does not like it. I am not sure what to do...

I am hoping that it is going to be similar to my battle trying to get him to take a bottle. He just didn't want to until one day... for whatever reason, he decided to finally take it. He's never grown very fond of the bottle, but he takes it when necessary (while I am away). Maybe it will be like this with solids... one day he will finally be interested. Until then, I just keep trying.

Anyone else with any suggestions??

My son is 7 months old today. He is like night and day different from my daughter.  He refuses baby food, cereal, oatmeal.  His pedi said no worries. I keep trying but nothing. I have tried sneaking tiny amounts of rice cereal into his formula but He will not drink it.  He is 20#s and the Dr put him 50percentil for weight and 99 for height.

Anyone else having feeding probs?

Ps. He has 2 bottom teeth, n e day 2 more top teeth will break the skin, they are visible.

My son is also sucking on everything. He was born 10/02/2012. He is teething and has bren since 2 months old. He is doing more nawing on things now than he is sucking. The best thing ive found that works is teething tablets and the vibrating teetgers. my husband and i also found these things that have mesh bags that you can put food inthat baby can naw on amd wont choke. i used it with my oldest son amd it worked some amazing wonders. He is already trying to crawl butcwhen we put him in a walker he starts walking across the room . everyone says he is trying to make room for a new baby and that he is moving way to fast. what do you think?

my bby is going to be 4 months old on the 22nd of this month and has been sucking on his hand alot or if im caring him he sucks on my shoulder or shirt. Does this mean he is teething?

Sucking is a way they soothe themselves whether it be a body part of themselves or you or a pacifier. My daughter sucks on her hands all the time looking for her thumb but hasn't quite grasped it yet so I just give her her pacifier and she's good to go :)

my aire does it also i usually take her hand out of her mouth and give her a pacifier it helps as long as its orthodontic approved

My daughter is doing the same thing and sometimes she chokes herself doing it! I think she is just exploring her hands and fingers and trying to figure them out. I don't think it is anything to worry about but I am new at this too so if you are worried ask your pediatrician.

Hand sucking normal??
I have a 3 month old who is CONSTANTLY sucking on her hands.  I read somewhere that this is a soothing mechanism for them, but she literally does it all the time.  Even when i hold her if she can't get to her hands she sucks on my shoulder.  If i sit w her in my lap she'll suck on my hand that's holding her.  Is this normal?? She's been doing the hand sucking since birth but recently it's been worse.  I don't think she is teething either.  Sorry I'm new at this mom thing and feel like I'm just completely lost..

Hi I had my third son Caiden Oct, 14th,2012 and he is amazing. HIs smile can make a late night as easy as pie  when I am exhausted. I am currently balancing career and motherhood and being a wife.  It was definitely easier with two boys instead of three.  How do you all balance the three?
