Thank you all for sharing. I feel much better about her progress and not alone in the sleep problems. It's hard when I hear about all the other babies in our circle that have started walking and many are a little younger than her. Last night, or early this morning I should say, she woke up screaming and nothing but nursing comforted her so I think it's teething-related too. Skylark97, I thought of doing the same thing with the mattress too, might have to try that soon. Thanks again everyone!

I've been having issues with sleeping and my daughter, who was born on the 29th. We gave up on the crib. She sleeps on a mattress on the floor in her room (everything is put up and out of the way that so when she wakes up, there's nothing for her to get into). I nurse her to sleep on the mattress, and then when she's asleep, I get up and shut her door. She's an awesome crawler, but she hasn't quite gotten courageous enough to walk yet. The balance is there, and she's taken a couple of steps, but she hasn't made the whole transition yet. She really wasn't sleeping well this last week but I just discovered today that she cut her first molar, so it's entirely possible that some of these sleeping issues have more to do with teething than anything else...

My daughter was born on the 28th and she just wont sleep well. Its not that she doesnt fall asleep well, but staying asleep is hard. She still wakes up at least once and as often as 5 times a night. Ive tried the cio method but she just ends up wakin her brother who tends to have night terrors. So I really dont know how to help her sleep better. That seems to be the only problem with her. She has been wqlking since the begining of september talks a lot and eats well. But sleep has been a real problem. ! Y husband works 3rd shift so  take care of his every night with her. And I feel like I might as well be working 3rd shift too.

Yeah I agree with niki we done the cio too and it worked. And he was born in the beginning of the month(the 4th) and he is still not walking but he seems like he wants to, he stands on his own sometimes without holding on to anything but not very long though. So I don't think it will be long now.

@cpoo7.. My son is also born end of the month and although he doesn't throw himself down he does stand and cry in the crib I have to keep lying him back down and usually am stuck standing there with my hand on his chest until he completely falls sleep. He is just starting to learn how to sit back down so i cant leave him standing there, Makes for long nights. I am concerned because he does cry 30 plus minutes as I I have also done the CIO method. For the first time last night he woke at 345 am crying so I went in nursed for a bit and he seemed asleep so I laid him down and he did get back up immediately like normal about 2x but I guess he was tired enough that he didnt stand back up ,only whimpered a bit 10 min or so and actually went back to sleep on his own!!!! Although everyone in the house had to endure his crying for a bit it worked:) so I guess if their tired enough you can try the CIO it just may take a while.

My lo was sleeping great for months but she also started to resist the crib a couple months ago. I tried the CIO for about 30 min. and she screamed the whole time and threw herself back. That was months ago when she was smaller. She throws herself around when she's upset and has hurt herself a little when she does so now that she's a bit bigger I worry about trying the CIO method again because I imagine her hurting herself thrashing around in her crib and screaming for hours - there's gotta be another way. Also, she was born on the last day of the month but idk if that's the reason she's hesitant to start walking. Anyone else still not walking?

Right I totally agree and that's exactly what we did when he was that age.

@niki. I have been there when my daughter was about six months. We did the let her cry it out route and trust it was frustrating to hear her cry but it worked! It surprised me that her pediatrician agree with letting her cry. And he also suggested when she wakes in the middle of the night for us to let her soothe herself back to sleep being that she is full.

Hi it's been tiring lately. Anyone with separation anxiety at bedtime! Since he is getting around now he gets up in the crib and holds on to the rail and cries when we put him to bed even if he is in a sound sleep when I lay him down he will get right up when I try to leave. I need help I am not getting much sleep. He is waking in the middle of the night too!
