Comment by carebear on June 8, 2011 at 3:39pm: I went to school in Cloudcroft and wish I could raise my daughter there. Unfortunately, my husband's job is in Albuquerque and there's just not a job for him in the Cloudcroft area. Its a great place to raise kids though. Don't get me wrong, there are problems there just like everywhere else, but everyone knows everyone and watches out for each other and their families. There is also extremely little crime or violence there. I accidentally left my purse sitting on the back of my car one night. It had my keys, wallet, and $200 cash in it (I was getting ready to take a trip). The next morning, my purse was still sitting there untouched. Its just a great place to be in general.

As far as the worst places go, I have no idea. I am finding that the places I thought I wouldn't want to raise a child aren't so bad after all.

Sports...[soccer, football, biking, crosscountry.] And there are fiesta, which are fun. The schools are great. And I know cuz not only did my parents go but so did myself and my brothers and sisters, but also now my children. But that's just my appion. I think espanola is bad and I can't say about los lunas. And hobbs don't know either. But I love the mountain. The east mountain. Were tijeres is. Look into it. I know even way up north is nice. Toas is a great place as well

Comment by Kim Demos on October 28, 2010 at 8:15pm: I thought Los Lunas was safe while I was going to school ( I graduated in 03) but from what I hear now a lot of the gangs and bad people that are getting kicked out of Albuquerque are going down there.
