Greetings! My name is Michele and I have a 5.5 month old son. We just moved to Reno a couple weeks ago, and I am looking for a Mommy and Me group or other moms and babies to meet. I am currently looking for work, but in the meantime, would like to get out of the house and have interaction with other people! Also, if anyone can reccomend a good, decently priced daycare in Reno, I would greatly appreciate it! I can do all the research I want, but nothing is better than the experience of other parents! Any info is appreciated and we would love to make new friends!

Thanks for the tip, @Julie Alicia Jensen! We'd love to hear from the other Nevada Moms in our Local Tips Contest. Where do you take your little one when you want to get out of the house and play? What's your favorite local children's clothing store? What park has the best sandbox? Share just one local tip on the wall and you'll be entered to win a $100 Living Social Family gift card! One winner will be randomly selected on June 1.

I live in Reno, Nevada.  A great play date we go to once a month is at My Gym on Kietzke Lane.  The first Friday of every month, they host a FREE play date from 1pm to 2pm for ages 0-3.  It is great.  I have been going since before my daughter could crawl.  All the mommies of non-mobile babies, all sit together in a circle and the other older kids have lots of area and fun things to play on.

I think the only way for SO's to be OK with it is time, it threw my DH off early on when I did it even being covered, but now he doesn't even notice, and i don't have to feed her out and about as much anymore anyways. It's just something that takes some getting used to for some people :)

Hello again!! It has been a few weeks that I have been nursing in public and I am not as shy about it anymore! My man is embarrassed for some reason tho. How may I put his mind at ease about this? He rather I pump and bottle feed. I just don't have the time to sit for a hour or two. Plus I love the bonding time I have with our daughter when I nurse her.

Hi everyone! I'm also from Reno! It's good to see some other moms from there on here! I have a 1 year old little girl, and I am still happily breastfeeding her. She's at the age when I don't have the need to feed her in public anymore, but when I did I nursed anywhere, I just used my cover, most people didn't even notice.

I live in Reno. I breastfeed almost everywhere I go... let them stare, I stare right back, if they don't like it they don't have to look. What are you supposed to do let your baby starve? I'd rather everyone get a quick peak at my boob than have my baby cry.
