I'm Rania from Dearborn. My little man is 14 months old now. Anyone know of a mommy-baby coffee/ play group? I'd like to get my baby around other kids.

Hi, My name is Danielle and I live in  Westland. I'm looking to make some new friends that I have something in common with, our children and possibly other things. and also maybe another child for my son to interact with.  I now have a 2 month old son as well as a 23 yr old son and a 20 year old daughter.  My friends are all childless or they are older, I feel alone and sometimes just need to talk to someone other than myself, the baby or my dog, lol.

Tip: Kalamazoo has a great museum. The Kalamazoo Valley Museum. And it's FREE!! It has a planetarium and a really old mummy along with great exhibits for kids.

Thanks babyliz. She'll be 14mos. saturday. Her pediatrician said that its normal that shes not walking yet and to give it time. My oldest was walking at 10mos. so i guess i got a little worried since its been so long since i had a child.

Mgal, with your 1 year old not walking. Believe me she will when she is ready. There is a wide range of normal for walking. I wouldn't worry about it until she is almost 18 months and not walking. If your quite concerned talk to her pediatrician about it, and he might have some suggestions. Or at least be able to ease your anxiety about her not walking around chasing  your 14 year old. LOL! Not that the teen will or won't enjoy it. But she will when she is ready, maybe she's not ready to be free standing and moving.

Hi ladies. I've had 3 periods since my son was born 4 months ago. I'm very regular, every 28days on time. I'm a little over a week late, bad pelvic pain, and 3 negative pregnancy tests. Have any of you experienced this?

Hi everyone! I'm a mom to 14 and 1yr old girls. I've been trying to get my daughter to walk for a few months now but all she does is stand while holding onto something. I have a few things that encourages her to walk but its not helping much. If you have any helpful hints i'd appreciate it! :)

Hi everyone! I'm a new mom to 4month Khalil. I love my little man! I amca nurse and have been back to work part time for 2months. I gained like 65 pounds and only lost 25. It's really been difficult to lose it! I am not breastfeeding bc I never produced enough milk- I was so upset about this. Any advice for losing the baby bulge?

Hello Michigan Moms!

I live in the Metro Detroit area, and my *FUN* tip is to take your little ones to festivals this summer. There are festivals all over Detroit (they've already started), and there is usually LOTS to do for both kids and adults. There are festivals for all of your interests... country music festivals, jazz music festivals, soul festivals, barbecue festivals, Arabic festivals, Latino festivals, African festivals, Caribbean festivals, art festivals, fireworks festivals, classic car festivals, Christian festivals... festivals, festivals, festivals! LOL! I also remember them having a lot of cultural festivals at the Detroit Zoo one year (not sure if that's an annual thing or not). Here is a list of some of the ones going on for Spring/Summer 2011 (I don't think this list is all-inclusive though):

It's a FUN way to get out of the house with your little ones. Bring your strollers, lawn chairs (in some cases), and a few bucks for food and drinks, and have a GREAT time! :-)

Another tip (if you live in the Macomb County area) is to take the little ones to the Macomb Mall. They apparently have a place in there called Extreme Fun. You pay $5 to get in, and they have all kinds of toys, bounce houses, slides, and other things for kids to play on. I haven't personally been there, but my husband has taken our boys there several times.
