I've gotten quite a few comments on how big my son is so I was just wanting to get some comparisons! He was 10 weeks old on Monday and weighs 13.1lbs, 24ins. I breastfeed and he's never had any other food source. His dr. said he is nice and healthy! Does anyone else get those 'aww what a chunky lil baby' comments?

I have a little girl and a couple weeks ago when she was 10 weeks I had her to the doctor. She was 11.5 lbs and 24 in. I think she's gotten bigger, too! Wouldn't worry about it too much, my son was a big boy, too - longer than heavy, but big. His doctor at the time said that it was inpart to good nutrition. He sounds healthy and that is wonderful - congratulations!

My son is now 3 years old and still 'normal', but much larger than most 3-year-olds. His doctor has a son his age and said his son only comes about to my kid's chest! Both are healthy, just different sizes.

Hi. I have a little girl, I breastfeed her. at her 2 month check up she had 12lb10oz. she was born 3 weeks early but seems to grow so fast, the doctor was surprised because at the beginning she was just 17% now she is 89%..And I get those comments too..:)

lol, I know exactly what ur talking about my son ( now 5) was a extra chunky baby (he has since slimmed right out as soon as he began to crawl) when I took physic it talked about baby boys having rapid weight gain during the first 6 mts of their lives because they produce as much testosterone as a male adult  in this time frame, which is why they are usually bigger than girls.  Also if it make you feel better my 11 week old is 12lbs 22ins and has the biggest cheeks ever( i just love it)

Thank you everyone for the reassurance

My son is just now 11 weeks and when he went to his 2 month appointment he was 16 pounds and 25 3/4 inches long. His dad is 6'5 and I am 5'10 so he is bound to be a big boy.... your baby is just fine... tell people to mind their own business lol
I get the same thing! Everywhere i go people comment on how big he is. When i took him for his 2 month check up i think he was also 10 weeks, he weighed 14.8 lbs and was 23 inches. ( in the top 97 percentile for his weighy)I too have given him nothing but breast milk. I asked his pediatritian if he was gaining too much weight and he said its not about their weight gain but what they are eating to gain the weight. He told me he is perfectly healthy and not to worry :) i think chunky babies are adorable and i just go along and add to what peoplle say! Its good to hear im not the only one getting those comments!

All the time, so much infact my little man is now a "chunky monkey".  Ezekiel is 14 weeks, and I bet he is close to 14lbs, 22in now!

I was wondering what a normal weight was at this age my son Channing was born march 23 at37weeks and now almost 3 months he weights 17 lbs 26inches long??? He seems to be bigger than most full term babies.
My chunk man at his 4 month visit was 20 pounds and 28 inches long... he is still off the charts! He came out 9 lbs 12 ounces and 23 1/2 inches long... his dad is 6'5 though and I am 5'10 so we expected to have a big boy lol. I get all the time " Oh wow that is one big boy " but I take it as a compliment :)
