Permalink Reply by Rachel Prechtel on June 18, 2012 at 10:10pm I received the CD's and brought them in the car with us, this seems to be the most useful. Within the first 10 to 15 minutes she would fall asleep every time. While she typically does fall asleep in the car it usually would take longer for her to sleep then i felt with the CD. My daughter enjoyed listening to it, i think the soothing effect is accurate and i do enjoy that it is not soo lullaby but still soft to keep baby calm. My olny critique with the Lady Gaga would be too much xylophone. while it worked well with some songs i was getting sick of hearing it in every song as the main instrument. Other than that my daughter and i enjoyed the CD's and look forward to other artist on the cds.
Permalink Reply by MelissaG on June 19, 2012 at 11:44am These cd's are amazing. We had to do a long car ride and my son is 3 months old. He was good for the first six hours of the trip. Once he started to get fussy we put the cd's in the player and after a few minutes he calmed down and then went to sleep. It really saved us :) I will be buying more of the collection. My husband and I actually started to sing the songs as the cd was playing.
I received these CDs for my 2 month old. I also have a 2 year old that listened as well. I think the 2 year old benefited more than the baby. I put the cd on while my baby was going to sleep and he stayed awake to listen to it every time! I guess that means he liked it, but it is supposed to be a lullaby and it definitely didn't lull him to sleep. lol For him, I think the high pitched tones were stimulating. However, to be fair, he does seem more aware and affected by sensory stimuli than a normal infant. My 2 year old loved it, though. She loved the song selections.
Thank you for the CDs. We put them on at my 7 month old daughter's bedtime routine and ended up using them for my 5 year old son's as well. They were soothing and got the whole family settled down. I felt in was a good cue that it was bedtime. My son recognized some of the songs and thought it was silly. My one complaint would be the xylophone/synthesizer music. Perhaps it is better for a baby but the electronic stuff got annoying after a while. I would prefer it if it was guitars, flutes, etc. The kids didn't mind at all. i think it was a great idea, and we will continue using them.
We received the Baby Blanket Music CD's (Lady Gaga and Elton John) a week or so ago and like them quite a lot. Though I'm not too familiar with Lady Gaga music (I know, I've been living under a rock :), the music is very calming and relaxing. I do enjoy the Elton John one quite a bit - and find myself humming along to each song - which makes it fun for me to listen to as well. I've been playing them right after bath time at night, while I'm getting my 20 month old in his jammies, and while we read his bedtime book. When the story is over, I turn off the light and dance with him (slowly) while we cuddle, then I lay him down in his crib. When I leave his room I keep the music playing until the disc is over. I don't know if it's the soothing Baby Blanket Music, but my little guy has been sleeping through the night since we've been using these CD's! They get a double thumbs up from us!
Thank you Mom 365 for picking us for this review :)
At first listen, I was a bit skeptical. The music, to me, sounded a bit cheesy but my little guy(19 months) absolutely loved the music! I did like how they were tunes that I could sing along to, that were not just lullabies We would pop them in his cd player right after bath time and listen to them during our transition from playtime to sleep-time. He would not fall asleep to the music but he did enjoy the music while we relaxed in his room reading books and preparing for bed. Maybe if we had the music when he was younger he would have been more inclined to fall asleep to them. I would recommend these cds to anyone with little ones! I think I will start giving them as part of a shower gift from now because they are fun and functional.
Permalink Reply by Jen on June 20, 2012 at 12:43pm My little one was 4 months when we received the Lady Gaga & Garth Brooks CDs . She really enjoyed both of them as soon as I put them in. She danced for a few minutes and then passed out! I work out of my home & putting in the CDs was nice for both of us since it occupied her & didn't drive me nuts with "The Wheels on the bus..." type music! We will be driving from TX to GA in a couple weeks and I am eager to try them out if/when she gets fussy. We both love listening to them and are very thankful we had the opportunity to try them out.
When I first heard about these cds, I was curious as to how Lady Gaga could possibly be translated into lullabies for babies. I received the Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson cds for review. Both cds are very soothing due to the soft instrumentation and gentle versions of the pop melodies. However, the songs are clearly recognizable and easy to sing along with. We listened to the cds in the car, and my three-month-old daughter, who is typically fussy in the car, was quickly calmed by the music and stayed happy throughout the ride. It was a nice change from traditional lullaby cds. Overall, I would recommend this product to other moms.
