Research NYSP. I used to work for this camp when I was in highschool. It is held at Southern In Baton Rouge, but there are NYSP camps is all over the country. It usually lasts all of June, and almost half of July. It is a wonderful sports program where children learn different sports from basketball to golf. (boys and girls) It is government funded, breakfast and lunch are included.  It is from about 8-3 monday through friday.  :)

Thanks for the tip, @NewMomtoCarl! There are still a couple of days left in our Local Tips Contest and we'd love to hear from other Louisiana Moms. Where do you take your little one when you want to get out of the house and play? What's your favorite local children's clothing store? What park has the best sandbox? Share just one local tip on the wall and you'll be entered to win a $100 Living Social Family gift card! One winner will be randomly selected on June 1.
