Does he take a bottle at any other time? Is it worth the fight if he is happy with an empty bottle?

My son typically goes to bed with a sippy cup of water and a covered bowl of Cheerios. The water is good for him since the house is so dry even with a humidifier going in his room.

Hi Mommymanda2010, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends you take your baby when her first tooth comes in, or by her 1st birthday, whichever comes first.

On July 23, 2010 we were BLESSED with our first baby boy Kendall. He weighed 6lbs 10oz & 19inches long. On his 1st Birthday we couldnt believe how FAST he grew up!  Now he is walk & talk. We enjoy him everyday :)

@ Katrina Allen, well my son's first brithday party was really quit a simple one, lots of people were invited, only family showed up. I made hamburger, hotdogs, deviled egg, potato salad, baked beans, and a homemade cake. There was a parade a town over that we went to. So all together it worked out. With the heat the less amount of people was a blessing. But, I would like to wish you good luck with your little ones birthday party.

@ Tasha Simmons... Sorry I took so long to respond, but I totally understand your frustrations. This is my first child too and i'm so confused about this first bday party thing! I keep thinking about other parties I have been to and how my son's party has to be just as fun! But this heat wave is ridiculous... it's even hot at night and in the morning! LOL! But I just decided to do a little house party and bbq. I'm gonna rent a moon bounce thingy for the kids and call it a night! LOL! How did your party go?

@ Katrina Allen, I am in the same boat here in STL. My son's birthday is on the 22nd. See the big problem I am having is that my son is already a water log but the heat worries me. I am a young mom and this is my first kiddo. I would love to do a big party for him but I am not sure how to go about it. And I keep being told to not worry to much about it because he will never remember it. I am at a loss here and am stuck.
