Does anyone have the magic touch with African violets? I have one whose flowers are drying up. I've been keeping the soil pretty dry because I heard that was what they preferred, but maybe it's too dry?

Dishwasher or wash by hand, which uses less water? I've heard dishwasher, but that just seems the energy to run it counts, right?

Every couple of weeks (probably should do it more often), I clean my son's bath toys with a vinegar-water solution (1/2 cup vinegar to every gallon water). After 10 minutes of soaking, scrub the toys a bit and rinse. Gets rid of mildew and bacteria....
