I got pregnant with my second about 10 months after my c-section (they're about 19 months apart). My doctor said she would highly recommend just having a c-section since she thinks 24 months between c-sections is safest. I also have big babies, so that may have something to do with it too, my first was 9lbs 3oz and my second was 10lbs 9oz. We're not planning on having any more for a few years now, so hopefully maybe my next could be a VBAC if the baby's not too huge.
My daughter is my first baby and she is 8 months old. I was told by my doctor it takes a good full year for you to fully heal. I am going to wait awhile that way it gives me time to heal fully. Its mostly up to you every doc is diffrent. :)
I just asked this i had my baby 10-10-11 and I'm pretty sure I'm pg again. I had an amazing recovery after my c sec and was up walking 4 hrs later. Went to church the night we got home and walked two miles three days later. But I have read some scary things I called my docs office the nurse said they have had Ppl come back for the six week apothegm pg and be fine. I want another baby and soon I just hope this isn't to soon.
My 2 kids are 4 years apart. So my body had plenty of time to heal. Can't even imagine having 2 kids in diapers. Let your body and wallets heal a little before trying for another is my opinion. My nephews are 361 days apart, almost 1 year and my sister struggles it's almost like having twins have to double everything.
my kids are 15 months apart and I had to have a csection with my first, so with them being so close together I had a scheduled csection with my second. they cut out the old scar and you get a new one when they sew you up. I had steri strips with the first one and developed a keloid, so with my second one I ended up getting staples and it healed SO much better!! Your body was made to have babies, so go for it!! You will heal the same as the first time. After 13 months of healing time you can try for a vbac between births. Good luck!
Rosemary, I also had a c-section (my daughter is 10mths old) and my doctor was very precise about having another. She said i should wait at least 18 months for my scar to fully heal. After 18 months the cut is as fully healed as it will get but before then you risk it ripping open from the weight of the baby. Note I said risk. I know there are women who had a child sooner but most were by accident. You need to give your body time to heal and get back to the way it was. We were not meant to be cut open to birth our children but that is how it happens for many of us. I cannot wait for #2 either, but I don't want to put more risk on myself or my baby than I need to.
i actually had a girl three months ago and i wonder if i can again. Since i belive i pregnant i havn.t taken the test i also want to know if it safe
I got pregnant with my second child 9 months after having my first c-section. I was going to have a vbac but after some medical issues ended up with another c-section. The closer you have your second child to your first the more strain you put on your uterus. How many children do you want to have? Do you plan on trying VBAC? All questions to answer before you have another child. talk to you OB and if he/she is not supportive and gives you all your options you might want to find a second opinion.
