Hello, I have 2 boys ages 7 and a 9 wk old. I'm having a hard time balancing attention between both boys. My year old acts out and I know its because he is use to getting all the love and attention. Its hard for him and myself. I'm going through the post partum and its causing me to be very moody towards my 7yr old and their father. But aside from all that I love my boys.

Hi, I am a mom of a 6-year-old girl and a week-old baby boy.  There have been challenges with the difference in genders even during my pregnancy.  I had an amazing pregnancy with my daughter, and a very difficult one with my son.  But last Wednesday, when I gave birth to my son, I noticed that every ache and pain, every tear and sob was worth it just to hold my baby boy in my hands, the same way I felt when I first laid eyes on my beautiful baby daughter six years ago.  I remember thinking, "Oh, my God.  She is beautiful!" And when my son was born, I couldn't stop smiling for almost an hour.  I am very happy with my children and only pray that God grant me the ability to treat these children He has given the way He has treated me throughout my motherhood.

Good Morning EVERYONE! I'm a new mom to a now 3 month old baby girl. Her name is Aurora. She's very socialable and she loves seeing new things...So I take her to the park where I can meet up with 3 of my other mommy family members and friends. We sit where there is nice shade and very close to the playground. We bring toys and interact with each child just the same. My sister has two daughters age 5 and 1; The 5 year old is autistic and she loves that babies! If we can not go to the park, we would go to the beach where there is also a playground.

Hello everyone!  I am a mom of a 22-month old who is very active and loves to be outside.  We visit many parks where he can run around, see the scenery riding from his stroller, or even take his daily nap with the sounds of nature surrounding him.  As far as play groups, he has not attended anything structured.  I am a non-employed teacher and spend alot of time watching other children so he does get the opportunity to play with others on a daily basis.  Unfortunately my unemployment just ran out and I may have to get a job and he would have to attend a daycare, at least he would still get to socialize but I would miss it:(  My dream would be to have my own home daycare so if anyone is interested and is close to the Windsor Locks area let me know.  :)

Thanks for the tip, @yessenia santiago and @Beverly! We'd love to hear from other Connecticut Moms in our Local Tips Contest. Where do you take your little one when you want to get out of the house and play? What's your favorite local children's clothing store? What park has the best sandbox? Share just one local tip on the wall and you'll be entered to win a $100 Living Social Family gift card! One winner will be randomly selected on June 1.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the group. My son is 17 months old now. I live in the Hartford County Area. Does anyone know of toddler groups that are NOT in the day. I am a working mom and I cannot go to all the toddler groups/events that are in the day.

For those who can go to infant/toddler groups check out www.harthosp.org/classes they have 6 week session starting tom (5/25) for Infants and a second group for Toddlers...10AM-11AM.. there is a fee for the class.

I take my son to the local play group at the library. They call it a parent child work shop but there are toys, and they do a music time at the end of every play session. Its really nice.
