Hi moms! My baby is about 4 months old now. And my hair is falling off like crazy. I have read somewhere that this normally happens. My hair is getting so thin now, I don't know what to do. Is it normal? Would the falling off stops naturally? Does anybody out there had or is having the same experience? What can I do?

Thanks in advance for the advices!

My lo is now 5 months and I've been having the same problem just make sure you keep up with your vitamins. My hair also did it with my now 2 year old in the end it sould be fine just a mommy stage:-)...oh one thing that helps when you ge out of the shower don't brush your hair use a comb brushing pulls on the hair...hope this hlps

Thank you! I feel a bit better knowing that there's an end and hopefully it will before I go bald. : )

I'll try your advice. thanks again!

My hair also fell out. It's the hormone levels in your body adjusting. While your pregnant your hair gets thicker and then afterwards your hair thins.

I went to Visible Changes and got a V cut with some long side bangs to add volume to the thinning hair and hide the front spikes from where the hair was growing back out.

I also bought a shampoo called Nioxin for thinning hair.

I see. so that's why. I saw that nioxin, and wondered if it is effective. Did it help? thanks

well it's been 16m for me and mine was still falling out till i am pregnant agian now. yeah i was taking prenatal vits and taking good car of my hair and it still didn't matter. i have bangs now that was never styled into bangs because so much hair fell out. it is awfully thin and i hate it. i also bf for 15 months so maybe that had something to do with it. get you a good hat or hair clipss, that's all i could do.

Keep taking the prenatal vitamins ladies for as long as you can. If you are unable to take those you can also take women's one a day vitamins.

thanks

The same thing happened to me after both my pregnancies. I ended up getting post partum thyroiditis (diagnosed when my first was about 6 months old and now again with my second who is 5 months) apparently its a symptom of the condition. I am on thyroid meds and my hair still falls out, but it seems to be getting better. I also breastfeed which may have somethong to do with it. I take prenatals which I think helps.
I once took some meds that this was a side effect. The Dr told me to take CentrumSilver. Yes the ones for old people. You can get generic at drug store and big bottles at SamsClub. It has somthing in it to help keep your hair (common prob for elderly). But I'm sure prenatal vitamins will be great. You could call your OB and ask their advice.
