So, my  boyfriend says he is going to get me a "gadget" that I can use to read, that way I don't keep him up at night by having the lights on.  I am doing research on which I'd prefer to get.  So far I am leaning more towards the Nook Tablet.  What do y'all think??  If you have either one of these can you tell me what are some pros and cons that y'all have dealt with the readers thus far.  Thanx! :D

nook tablet or kindle fire are good particularly if you want something with a backlight. I personally have a regular kindle that requires a clip-on light or something if I have to read at night, but i prefer it because i can read for longer periods of time. The backlit screen of the nook/kindle fire/ipad hurts my eyes after a while.. its like looking at a computer screen. Also not sure if you are interested in the weight of each one, My dad has a kindle fire and its so heavy! My mom has a nook color and i believe its lighter than the fire but its heavier than a kindle. ipads are nice but they are huge and i would probably do other things on it than read lol. I am not sure what the difference is between the nook table and the nook color.. they look exactly the same to me. hope that helps!

Thank you for your input.  I know they are much heavier than the kindle, and I totally agree with you about the iPad, lol!  The feature that the Nook Tablet has that I really like, is the interactive books for kids.  I want it for myself ofcourse, but I also think its a plus for my baby boy :)

I like the interactive books too! However.. I am not sure if the nook tablet and the nook color are the same thing... but if they are.. the nook is really slow on page turns. . . Sometimes it works fine and other times it drove me crazy because it took FOREVER to turn the page, which made no sense because my mom didn't have any extra stuff on her nook.. but she got it last year so they may have fixed that issue since then..

but I agree with MrsJAS I love my kindle lol

That is something to keep in mind.  The only difference I know so far of btn the Tablet and Color are storage capacity and screen resolution.  But I REALLY REALLY want the Tablet, I tested it at B&N, and it was just awesome!

I love my Kindle. I got a nice cover and a lamp for it, and that makes it just about perfect as far as I'm concerned.

Great post! I don't have any experience with anything other than an iPad, it seems ok for reading (for ebooks, I've only tried the Nook app on it). But I like to lie on my side in bed to read, so I've found the Nook app for my iPhone works for me--it's so small I can easily hold it in one hand without getting any weird wrist cramps. Not sure how good it is for my eyes to be staring at the small font and in the dark though... anyway, definitely good for easy on-the go reading in mini-sessions (i.e. if you are at a playspace, you can read a quick page or two while still keeping an eye on your child).

Very true for the iPhone,....my boyfriend is leaning more towards the iPad, but I think he secretly wants to use it for his own purposes, lol.  I love that B&N has the Nook app for the iPhone and iPad, so I know that's I'd still be getting a lot of what they have to offer through it, even if I don't get the actual Nook Tablet.  They also have it for Android, but I'm not such a big fan of Android.

Well, if you do end up getting the nook tablet let me know how you like it :)
