The past few months I have seen heart wrenching stories of parents who have found that their child's identity was stolen many years ago! When my Daughter was one month old I registered her with one pf the popular Identity protection companies. Each year I also receive a copy of her "earnings" statement from the state where I reside. If I receive something that has any dollar amount other than 0 - I can move swiftly into action! It is far too easy to obtain information these days. Whether your private details have been deemed "public" or the state fails to prosecute identity thieves more aggressively it is up to us to watch out for this horrible crime. We need to petition our congress people to also create legislation that limits the amount of information that is available to just anyone. If you guys have a second, look yourself up on SPOKEO.com or any other popular "people" search site. You may be horrified what is out there about you for just anyone to see. We also need tougher laws for offenders. What do you guys think?
