Here's a website you might want to check out. It has info on home and regular daycares in whatever location you choose. Good luck!
Check out Bright from the start's website (decal.ga.gov) as well as allgakids.org. The BFTS website has ALL licensed childcare professionals in the state, and you can search by city or zip as well as by type (childcare center, family/ home care, etc). You can then read their licensing reports from when the licensing professionals visit the centers/ homes and evaluate them based on specific state-defined criteria. The allgakids website will give you some more information on each provider, including things like educational levels and whether they are bilingual. I found the woman who watches my son via BFTS by doing a search for Marietta, then using google maps to figure out how close they were to my house and then the street view option to check out the neighborhood before narrowing it down to a few people. After that I called them and visited the ones that had openings and decided after I met them.
When you're looking - if you prefer someone's home, search for either family childcare or group childcare. Family childcare is usually one person who looks after up to 6 children (they are not allowed by law to have anymore than that in their care at one time) and group childcare is usually 2-4 people who look after kids in someone's home.
Good luck!
