Comment by Yogi on May 30, 2011 at 10:32am Hi ATL moms. I was a SAHM for 2 years, now I am a WAHM trying to make the transition as painless as possible for me and DD.
TIP #1 fo other moms: check out your local library they have fun and free programs for all age groups. TIP#2 Check out your local county parks for their free summer programs or just go play, it is your tax $. Most kids love to play outside. TIP#3 turn old infant swimming pool into a sand pit. TIP#4 Imagine It Children's Museum is free on Target 2nd Tuesdays of the month. Tip#5 4th Sat. of the month during summer is Family Fun days at Centennial Olympic park, different them each month.
I enjoy living in the Atlanta area because there is so much to do and so many great parks to go to. But when it was colder out, I would take my 1 year old to "Story Time" at the Library and he really enjoyed it. It's free and fun for parent and child :) okay -just saw someone else posted this. :) well, my other tip is that they have a zoo pass that you can check out at the library that gets 2 kids and 2 adults in free. You just have to make sure it's not checked out by someone else, and I think you can place it on reserve online at afplweb.com
