So my pediatrician said I could start giving my son baby clearly and some baby foods because he is constantly hungry. He's 4 month old. So I was already giving him cereal for like almost a month now (he's a big boy). Along with some bananas. I haven't given him anything else in case he had a reaction to something I wouldn't know what to. My question is what are some good foods I can start him off on? Thanks in advanced

My son loved baby prunes, and they're great for keeping little ones regular (which can be a problem when you introduce solids).

We always mixed first stage foods with rice and oatmeal. Brown rice was mixed with veggies, and oatmeal mixed with fruit. Worked well for us, good luck! We didn't do solids until 6 months, she was on breastmilk only.

I started my daughter with brown rice cereal and didn't give her anything than that until she's 6 months. After that i started giving her bananas and avocado. Be careful when you are preparing your babies food under 6 months old because some veggies like carrots can leak nitrates. Wholesome baby food is a good website for baby food info

I would start with your green veggies first.  If you start with fruits or sweeter veggies, it makes it harder to introduce the greens (because they taste bitter in comparison). This is just my experience (with my niece) and my mom's handed down wisdom :) Hope it helps :)

sweet potatoes and squash are baby favorites. they are also the least allergenic. peas cause a lot of gas. too much banana and cereal causes constipation so be careful. pears are great for when babies are constipated it helps it work its way out. babies dont really like green veggies, regardless of if you start with them first or wait till later - try the peas, you will understand- they are gross haha. oh and for banana..use fresh banana and just mash it with a fork. so much healthier, cheaper, and actually tastes way better and gets them used to the texture of real food. i use jarred baby food for everything except banana because its so easy.

It depends on the baby...my niece loves her greens. Always has. Go with your gut and start with what you feel right. I recommend only one food at a time for about a week. This makes it easier to detect allergies. My pediatrician also said to be careful with anything that you have food allergies to, the baby is more likely to have allergies to them.

@Lisa I actually tried the peas to see how he would do with them because I know most babies don't like them and he loved them he was mad when they were all gone. He has tried pretty much every kind already and likes them all except for the meats unless they are mixed with something.
I started with peas too and she loved them! She enjoys everything I give her really. I think the new taste of these foods and textures are really enjoyable for babies. I don't stick to one veggie or fruit. I give her a taste of everything really. she has something different every other day just to avoid constipation or reactions. It's important to watch your baby really carefully when giving solids. If they start to change too much then cut back on certain things. My baby hasn't had any reactions but it is important to watch and know the signs. I tend to give more veggies so I won't have trouble with her eating them later :).

reading what others had to say and i agree all babies are different!!! i started my baby off with rice cereal and a half of jar of fruit in the morning and veggies for dinner. shes not really picky im just now giving her table food and shes not a fan of textured food yet. but i am trying new things for her its hard to think of things that are healthy and and easy for them to eat.
