My little one is 11 weeks old today, so I know there are many special moments coming up I'd love to be able to video, first taste of different foods, first steps, and many, many more "firsts." My husband is retired from the Army and now works at a job where he also travels periodically and I would love to be able to show him the "firsts" that he misses by being away from us.
We put off getting a camcorder because Adam's mom said she was getting one for us for the baby shower. Which was in June 2011. We still do not have a camcorder. My phone memory is almost full from taking so many pictures and videos on it. There have been moments where I would have loved to capture them on camera. Like him starting to crawl; the first time he had baby food; recording his first tooth. I have to limit what I record since my phone can only hold so much. I do not want to look back and try to remember these moments, I would rather relive the moments by watching them. I would love to show Blaine, my son, one day his home movies like my parents showed me mine.

I would have loved to catch my son say momma for the first time & afterwards how he kept saying it. Now he's always saying dadadada.. and only says my name when he's sad or mad. I would have loved to catch that cute little face on camera!
Permalink Reply by mreneei88 on February 8, 2012 at 9:53pm I would have to say every time my son sees his dad in the mornings or after he gets home from work. It's such a priceless moment that makes you so warm inside. Sometimes it makes me want to cry a bit; happy tears that is. Those are the moments I could always remember, the look on baby and daddy's face after seeing each other after a long day. PRICELESS!!!
I wish I would have caught the reaction on Auntie Nico's face when while holding Bianca she discovered a leaky diaper too late. Poop got all over her white shirt and Bianca, always a happy baby, almost laughed on cue at the newly found gift she presented to her aunt.
Permalink Reply by elnared on February 8, 2012 at 11:30pm When my two older kids were 3 and 4 I found them in the bathroom dipping the toilet paper in the toilet and sucking the water out. It was very gross but at least the toilet was flushed...
Permalink Reply by Marlena on February 8, 2012 at 11:50pm The moment I wish I could have caught on video to save for my daughter when she gets older would be the first time I gave her finger paints (at 25 months old). I put her in her highchair and gave her the paints, a sheet of paper, and a paintbrush. We started by mommy showing her what they were and how to put the brush in the paint and then on the paper. Then I let her have at it. I sat by her as she was exploring and we discussed colors and mixing colors. We were inspired by a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse that I had recorded for her, one where they are painting. She watched them and wanted to paint a flower like Daisy. She was just entranced and mesmerized!! She enjoyed every moment and when all was said and done, she had paint everywhere! LoL In her hair, on her face, hands, the high chair and even on the paper! We have saved the painting and dated it. It would have been amazing to have been able to capture even just a moment of the excitement she got out of this experience!
My 3 month old son stole the hearts of my 2 sisters and all of the other women in my family. He is just talking to "baby talk". Some of our family members do not always get along, while arguing Friday morning, our Mason decides to join in the fight, and argue loudly with the best "words" he knew. We all, like sisters, forgot about what we were fighting for and laughed at our 3 month old telling us what to do. Of course we listened!
