Does anyone know if soy is suppose to give your baby foul smelling gas and green pasty stools? Im a first time mother with a 3 week old newborn. So far switched is formula cause he was having bad colic to  milk. Also he takes forever to burp on soy and i try different positions and when he doesnt burp he spits up.

Yes, it is :( -William's pediatrician told us to expect it. We did not have to give him the soy formula, but rather the similac sensitive. Other moms I've talked too who uses the soy base, has commented on the poop.

Thank you so much thats what i had expected.  He was on the similiac sensitive but still wasnt doing it i feel bad for the little guy hes only 3 weeks old and i know its trial error in the beggining but its is third formula we put him on but im glad its working hes sleeping better with less colic and the mylocon  drops work as well.  How old is your boy?

William is 5 months. It is trial and error. We went from infamil similac sensitive. I do use the mylocon drops everyday. It is tough for their little tummies with all that dairy.

formula poops are nasty! My son breastfed and had formula when I was working on the weekends. Those formula poops stank up the whole house. lol. So, yes, it's normal.

Its the soy. Ahhh the memories :-) so glad this babe is nursing. Its worth it for the lack of stinky poo alone. Spitting up is very normal no matter what babies eat. No concerns unless it is large amounts of projectile spitup every time.

Hylands colic tabs worked better the the mylocon for us. Found at Fred Meyer in their homiopathic section.
