hi everybody, my little baby girl just turned 9months and got her very 1st flue shot, right after she got really sick with a cold, its been going on 4days now and she seems to be getting more stuffy and congested, i dont know what to do to make her little more comofortable. ive tried the steam from the shower, she fights me big time when i try to pull stuff out of her nose, but i do that too, cool mist air, chest rub, she doesnt sleep at night and i feel really bad, i wish there was something i could do to make her little more comfortable..
Try inclining the mattress of her crib by putting something under one end and laying her down with her head at the elevated end. Gravity should help keep the "stuff" down and help her breathe better.
Thank you ill try anything..but for now she screams everytime she even sees her crib! Doesnt want to sleep in it thats for sure..
Becareful with the chest rub and know that some dr's recommend if you are using it to use only the rub for babies and to not cover it once applied. The weather and humidity can play a big part in this. There really isn't much you can do at this age except run the humidifier, watch the temp in her room, elevate one end of mattress, clean her room good. Make sure there isn't a draft that could be keeping her sick. Clean window seals, base boards, etc. My lo kept a cold off an on until she was about 2yrs old. Anytime the weather changed she'd be sick. My Dr finally had me give her Robotussin in a special does for her. Do NOT give your lo any medication that was not approved by her dr.
