I had my daughter 10 months ago and received an epidural.  I still can tell you exactly wear the needle went in when I touch my back because it feels like a constant bruise/sore spot whenever it gets touched. Sometimes if I do something that uses more back muscles than normal or lots of bending over then the site gets achey.  So I was just wondering if this is common and will it go away? It makes me wonder if I would want to get another one done if we have another baby!

I had no pain whatsoever, at the time or now. But I have heard other people say they had complications after the epidural.

My mom had that too. She had the epidural when she had me and had lots of pain until she had an allergic reaction to something and had to get a spinal tap in the hospital. After that she said the pain went away.

I had an epidural for my second pregnancy but didn't have any trouble. Hope you get feeling better.

I have 4 girls and had an epidural with all of them. They messed up 3 times in a row with baby #2 so I was pretty sore for a while ater that. My last one though I can relate totally to how ur feeling. It still feels sore and I know exactly where they put it. She's almost 5 months old and it feels like they just did it yesterday. I was thinking maybe it was because if how fast they did it, didnt have much time considering i was 8cm when we got to the hospital. He was rough putting it in, no fun at all. But 10 months later u should have some relief by now poor thing! I hope my pain goes away soon too! But even with the soreness i would totally do it again rather than feel the full blown labor and delivery pain lol! good luck to u!

I have had 2 epidurals and both were practically painless if you consider I was getting them during almost non stop contractions.  :)  No pain at the time or after.  I attribute it to a good anethesiologist....

I have had 14 epidurals. One caused horrible headache afterwards. My back sore for a very short time though. Last two epidurals have been difficult to get because of weight issues. Sorry to hear of you pain. May the Lord be with you!

14! That's a lot. How come so many?

I had an epidural when I had my son 7 months ago.  They had to stick me 3 separate times because the anesthesiologist couldn't get the needle in.  (OUCH)  My back hurt pretty bad for about 3-4 months afterwards and I could feel each stick point bending over and laying down.  The pain did wear off though and now I don't have a problem.

And as for having one again...Pretty sure I would

i dont necessarily know where they had placed mine but i Do get back pain from doin labor intensive work noticeably different from before pregnancy...and i remeber the feeling of the epideral as it got inserted i felt a cold chill up the right side of my spine...the epidural didnt work on my upper abdomenn throughout the labor...and i also notice the back pain on this side more stronger from the center of my lower back creeping up the the right side...i didnt so much mind it not working though becuase it gave me the ability to know when to push...

I just had my #2 baby in June and had an epidural. My anestesiologist (sp?) was amazing. I felt no pain when getting it, but to this day my right leg goes numb a lot. I still can't feel my whole right foot. I was told it could take a while for that to go away.

I had an epidural when I had my daughter 3 months ago it wasnt a pleasant expierience I had been up for over 16 hours when I finally decided to get one hoping that I would be able to rest some. My epidural worked great for about 2 hours then I began feeling every contracion on the left side of my body. They redosed it and then the same thing happened an hour later. I havent had any back pain since I left the hospital but I don't know that I will get another one considering it didnt work very well and I pretty much felt everything anyways.

I had the epidural with both my boys my back is always sore. Now the secound time i have problems with my knees, they lock on me when i bend and my right big toe tingles at times. My baby is 6 months now. So yeah its normal its different for every mom. Hope you feel better it sucks but thats the beauty of child birth.
I had one five and a half months ago and don't feel a thing. No pain.
