hi! i'm looking for feedback on jogging strollers. the most important thing in my search is height. my husband and i are both 6'3" so we'd like one that will accommodate us comfortably - or ideally has some kind of adjustable handlebar.

any suggestions would be a big help. it seems like there are so many out there online, but i've yet to find a store in our area with a good selection to try out in person (which is what i'd really like to do!)

thanks! :)

Have you checked bike stores? They often have the high-performance joggers in stock (BOB, etc). Do you really want it for jogging/running, or do you simply prefer the all-terrain capability?

We had a double BOB for a while and my 6'4" husband had no problems pushing it, but it wasn't used for casual walking, not jogging/running.
well at first it'll be more for walking, but eventually for jogging - that's the plan anyway. :) also, i'm finding there are a lot of non-paved trails and paths around here that i'd like to use, so the all-terrain part will come in handy as well.

BOB was the brand a friend recommended. i'm just not sure i want to invest quite that much - especially if we're mulling the idea of joining the YMCA, too. if we'd do that i'd be doing some indoor running and other activities.

i never thought to check a bike store. we just moved to a new town so i'll have to look them up and check them out. thanks for the suggestion! i guess if i find one i like i can always hop online to see if i can't find it a little cheaper.
With the expensive strollers, remember that the resale value is really good. In fact, I actually bought my double BOB for $300 on Craigslist and then managed to resell it when we were done (in virtually the same condition) for $325! That's my other tip—trawl Craigslist and even check local consignment stores/sales for deals.

Baby Jogger is also a good brand, but many of their "all-terrain" models (like the City Elite, which we have as a single) aren't actually meant for running/jogging (although I know people use them for that purpose since they do have the locking front wheel option). Mountain Buggy is another brand I've heard good things about.

Good luck shopping! Let us know what you ultimately decide to get.
good deal, thanks for the info - i really appreciate it! unfortunately we just moved from a big city to a small town so i'm not sure craigslist will be the great resource that it could have been, but i'll still keep an eye out just in case!
We bought a Jeep Liberty jogging stroller a few weeks ago and love it so far. I don't actually use it for jogging - just walks in our neighborhood, which has some pretty rough pavement and uneven sidewalks in places. But it does have a lockable front wheel if you wanted to really jog with it. I think they're about $170, so a lot cheaper than the BOB, but like someone else said, it's also not going to have the resale value of a BOB. They have them at Babies R Us, so we were able to get it 20% off.

Hope this helps!
it does, thank you!
We have a Valco Baby Tri-mode Twin. We picked that stroller because our first two girls are just 14 months apart and our third child (a boy) is just 22 months after the second. So we wanted a jogging stroller that could handle three kids and the tri-mode twin does that WELL with it's toddler seat attachment. It handles like a DREAM, even with three kids in tow so I have confidence that the single Valco Baby strollers would be of great quality also. My husband and I just ran a 5K this past weekend and pushed the three kids and it went really well. With two kids you can still easily steer with one hand - even turn corners - because it handles so well.
Hope that helps!
I also wanted to add that my husband is 6'3" and he really enjoys our Valco Baby stroller because the handles has 5 different height positions and the top one is very comfortable for him at his height. He's the one who pushed the stroller during the 5K last weekend, running the entire race. You also have three options for the front wheels - complete swivel (able to turn all the way around), only 45-degree swivel and locked straight. And it fits through a standard size doorway with two kids side-by-side (and even with a third in the toddler seat out front!).
hmm, that's more than i was hoping to spend, but i'm intrigued by the toddler seat accessory. i'm wondering if spending the extra now would mean saving in the long run - assuming we have a second here in a couple years. i'll have to do a little more research on this one. thanks!
Stephani, can you use the toddler seat on the single, too?
Amanda,
Yes, although it's a different toddler seat. See http://valcobaby.com/fileadmin/pdf/Brochures/valco_brochure_2010__l...

Christi,
My husband and I are NOT the kind of people to spend money on strollers but we've said numerous times that we don't regret a penny of what we spent on our Valco. I think we got ours new off Ebay for $630.
sounds like we look at things the same way, stephani. i'm not against spending a lot on something - if i know i'll get my money's worth. i'll have to check ebay for sure. i've never ordered anything from there so i never think to do it, but it's definitely worth a try.
