My son had to get tested for it. They test in the hospital, and a few weeks later the ped said that the numbers were a bit off so they wanted to check again. But his test came back fine. According to her, that can happen when they are first tested, but it turns out it's nothing. I wouldn't worry too much until you get the results back. I hope everything comes back ok!

What was the reason they tested for it?  I have hypothyroidism, so they test my kids every so often for it b/c it's hereditary.  A friend of mine has 2 out of 4 children who were diagnosed w/ it.  They have been on meds since they were born.  As an adult, I have to take a pill (hormone replacement for what my body is unable to produce on it's own) for the remainder of my life, but sometimes children who are diagnosed w/ it can grow out of it down the road.

My now 9 month old daughter was diagnosed when she was born. I give her a pill everyday. I was told babies with hypothyroidism may be more tired or have a lack of energy than normal but my little girl is so energetic! She started crawling at 6 months n now stands. medicine time is so easy she sees her medicine dropper n reaches for it all the time.
