Hey!! Its me again!! My daughter (now 2 1/2) has always been a good sleeper once she goes to sleep. She has always had the problem of not being able to settle down though and it doesnt seem to be getting any better, and now, she has started waking up rather frequently anywhere from 4-6am ready to hit the road running. The settling down thing is the first thing i want to ask about... When she lays down to go to sleep, it doesnt matter how tired she is or if she has had a nap or not, she fights going to sleep so bad. She will sing, talk, make noises with her mouth, flip flop, and play with her hands to keep herself awake. If i let her just call asleep on her own without making her settle down, she would be up all night!! I have tried everything i know.. i have put her down earlier, later, ate supper earlier and then later, tried the no nap vs taking a nap... nothing seems to change the outcome. Any suggestions or anyone else had/have this issue??

Definitely do not try the no nap because that makes them over tired and fight sleep even more! Have you tried giving her a bath and rubbing lotion on her before bedtime? I love using the johnsons bedtime bath and lotion for my baby and it relaxes him. Make sure the house is quiet when you give her a bath and make sure it's after supper. Then put lotion on her while you sing or talk softly with the lights dim. Put her pjs on and read a book. Try a whitenoise machine once you lay her down. It sounds like she might need something to soothe her to make her sleepy. Hope this helps!

I start our bedtime routine about a 45 minutes before. I make sure the TV is off, dim the lights and use a softer voice. We then put on pajamas/diaper/lotion and read books. I have also noticed that if I read slower and quieter he will stay seated and relaxed. By the time we are done with books he will lay down, roll over and go to sleep.
