My daughter is almost 13 months old and just cut her first tooth. I was wondering, what are your favorite teethers or teething remedies? We have been using infant tylenol, orajel, and some hard and soft plastic teethers. She used to gum on the plastic ones but now that her tooth has cut, she doesn't seem to use them. She really likes anything rubbery or fabric. Any suggestions? Also, any natural teething remedies are welcome as well!

We had the Sophie giraffe, they are super-popular but not cheap; might be good for your daughter if she likes rubber-y chew toys. Here's a link for more info: http://sophiegiraffeusa.com/

Also, try putting a wet washcloth in the freezer for a bit, lots of babies like the cold. I've been hearing bad things about Orajel lately so I might skip that. You could also try teething biscuits, then she'll get a little nutrition as she soothes her gums. I know Earth's Best makes some.

My daughter liked these. Although, at times, she liked playing with the clasps to the necklace more than chewing on the ring itself. But, the ring is silicone and if you hold your baby a lot, it's something that doesn't get dropped on the floor constantly.

Hello, just a couple of suggestions that we tried with our twins.....they just turned a year old in September but have been teething for a long time. Our pediatrician told us anything hard to chew on is better because it helps the teeth to come through faster, for example let them chew on (baby) plastice spoons because the can get it further back on thier gums. Pizza crust is great because it tastes good and it breaks down so they can swallow it, and popciles help to take the pain away too. Good Luck.....teeth are not fun....and they bother thier ears.

Natural remedy:

mix cloves (ground works the best and you find it in the spice section of any grocery store) and butter, sweet cream unsalted lasts the longest in the fridge. Mix together and place into the fridge. The more clove you use the longer it will work. Just rub on baby's gums whenever needed. Works amazingly fast.

Frozen carrots or waffles or even pizza crust. It's hard and delicious and just becomes mushy.
