i was changing my 3 months old poopy diaper and noticed in his butt crack that there was a little spot that was bleeding.. not bad just a drop. so i put a diaper on him and then checked it again a few min later and i still see it. it didnt bother him when i changed him but could that be the start of a rash. this is my first baby so idk. Should i use some destin on it just in case! Thanks
I use desitin where ever I see red! It probably was just irritated from going to the bathroom and then wiping made it bleed... it can happen, but yeah desitin should help clear it up and make it feel better.
The same happened w/ my son! I had been doing the diaper rash cream over and over and it just kept getting worse. I took him to Dr. after and sure enough it was yeast infection. It definitely resembles a rash, I guess when diaper rash cream doesn't help it must be a positive sign it's something else... I just feel so guilty I let it go so long thinking it was just a diaper rash b/c I know how uncomfortable a yeast infection can get. They prescribed nystatin for my son too, but it's been about 5 days and it's still red... not near as bad, but I thought it would be completely gone by now.
Ive had this happen on my sons genitals, I have to remind myself to wipe gently! As for diaper rash desitin works great (or butt paste, A&D, etc), my son has such bad diaper rash that wouldnt clear up, my pediatricians nurse recommended using two types of cream so that when one layers stripped the other will remain, hasnt had diaper rash since!
