Babbling
My son will be one tomorrow. He is very interactive and social. He squeals and makes noises but does not do any of the baba or lala or mama noises. Anyone else have anything similar happen. We do all the prescribed stuff with him like reading mimicking etc.

He's still young enough that it shouldn't be too much of a concern, yet. Though it wouldn't hurt to have his hearing checked. Bring it up with the pediatrician. If your son still isn't babbling typically by 18 months then you should call your local Early Intervention for an evaluation.

My friends Daughter had speech issues.She couldn't even cry normal as an infant. My friends Dr said, Her vocal cords were a little under developed at the time. She's now three, and her speech is normal now. You would never guess she had had a problem. A child's rate of development can very from child to child, but I strongly recommend speaking to your pediatrician.
