Hey everyone. I don't remember this with my first pregnancy, but with this one, since yesterday, I've had constant pressure on my rectal area. I pooped at least 5 times yesterday so I'm not constipated but it's that same feeling you get when you are. It hurts to bend, to sit, to roll, just about any kind of movement hurts. I feel like it's too early for the baby to me moving down so I'm not sure what else it could be. If it doesn't get better soon I'll call my doctor, but I thought I'd check here first, does anyone have any idea what this could be?

It sounds like a hemorrhoid. I had one all through my second pregnancy and it felt exactly like that. They swell or "flare up" and when they do any kind of pressure on them hurts. Braxton Hicks contractions, the baby moving into a position to lay on it, trying to go to the bathroom. Heck, just sitting down puts pressure on it and causes pain. You should inform your doctor of your symptoms and most likely they will tell you that's what it is. They can give you advice on how to prevent the swelling and how to manage the pain when it does swell. There isn't really anything you can do for them until after the baby is born. Ask your doctor about any red flags you should look for that are associated with this affliction. I know there are some I just don't remember what they are and I don't want to guess and give you the wrong information.

I was thinking hemorrhoid, too. Still get checked out, to make sure it's nothing else. Try getting some Tucks pads or some witch hazel on your bum in the meanwhile. It might help. Good luck!

or your syatic nerve

Sciatic nerve pain radiates through the hip and down the leg.

or down your buttocks but my family member had lots of pelvic pressure last week and the dr said it was her "sciatic" nerve...i guess if it is rectal pressure only thst sounds like a hemorroid but she said it hurts to lay sit roll or anything thats what made me think possibly a nerve...either way she will be fine and it is best to ask a dr we are all just speculating

It sounds to me like a hemorrhoid too.  I got one after my 1st pregnancy.  The Dr. gave me a plastic tub and these packets for a sitz bath and said to sit in it 2-3 times a day to help make the swelling go down... it definitely helped.  I would talk to your doctor, those can get very painful!

I've had enough hemmroids to know that it wasn't the problem. I ended up going to the doctor, they said the baby was just in a low position and putting pressure on me. Thanks everyone.
